Overview

Har-Ki-Doon in Indian Himalaya , the hanging valley of gods is a treat for trekkers. Har Ki Doon Trek in Garhwal Himalaya in Uttarakhand, is moderate trek, takes you to one of the least explored regions of Garhwal in Uttarakhand . The valley of Har Ki Doon is dotted with wild Himalayan Flowers and the whole valley looks colorful during flowering season in monsoon. As Har-KI-Doon falls within the Govind Pashu Vihar (National Park) , chances of seeing wildlife here are very high. Places on the way of this tour are Sankri, Taluka, Osla, Seema, Datmi. The best time for trekking in Har ki doon valley is May to October. During the rest of the years the region remains either very cold or wet. The valley is full of wildlife, which makes it a paradise for nature lovers.

Har-ki-Doon Trek itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Delhi

Arrive Delhi. Met upon arrival at Delhi international airport and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Delhi - Dehradun

Drive to Dehradoon. Dehradoon is capital of newly formed state of Uttaranchal. There are many famous institutes like Forest Research Institute and Wadia Institute of Himalayan Studies.

Day 3: Dehradun - Sankri

Morning drive (162 km) to Sankri. Sankri is the roadhead for Har-Ki-Doon Trek. Arrive and overnight stay in Tourist Bungalow/ Tented Camp.

Day 4: Sankri - Taluka

Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Taluka. Overnight in tents.

Day 5: Taluka - Osla

In the morning start trekking to reach Osla. Osla is one of the most beautiful village in Fateh Parvat region. There is a temple dedicated to Duryodhana, Kaurav prince from mahabharata. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 6: Osla - Har ki Doon

After breakfast trek (11 km) Har-ki-Doon. This hanging valley, popularly known as 'Valley of Gods' is one of the least explored region of Garhwal and a treat for trekkers. It offers very beautiful view of Swargarohini peaks. Since Har-Ki-Doon lies in Govind Pashu Vihar, so there are good change of finding some wildlife here. Overnight in Tented Camp.

Day 7: Har ki Doon

Day to explore the Har Ki Doon Valley. Overnight stay in tented camp.

Day 8: Har ki Doon - Seema

Morning after breakfast start return trek (13 KM) to reach Seema after crossing Osla. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 9: Seema - Datmi

Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Datmi which is approx, 2-3 km before Taluka. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 10: Datmi - Sankri - Mussoorie

Morning after breakfast (14 km) trek back to Sankri via Taluka. On arrival drive back to Mussoorie. Overnight stay in Hotel.

Day 11: Mussoorie - Dehradun - Delhi

Morning after b/fast drive down to Delhi. Upon arrival check in to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 12: Depart Delhi

Optional sightseeing tour of Delhi. Later transfer to airport to board flight for onward destination.
