Ladakh is the highest plateau of the Indian state of Kashmir with much of it being over 3,000 m (9,800 ft). Ladakh spans the Himalayan and Karakoram mountain ranges and the upper Indus River valley. Day 01: Arrive Delhi

Arrive in New Delhi where your Hotel room is available for immediate occupancy. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Delhi

Morning after a relaxed breakfast we will take you for a Heritage Tour through the narrow lanes of Old Delhi. Walk from Chandani Chowk---Silver Square (Once the centre of Delhi), to the various places of interest- just as the Royal Mughals would have done centuries ago. You will visit The Red Fort (Delhi's most magnificent monument was built by Emperor Shah Jehan.Some of the buildings it encloses are Diwani-am,Diwani-Khas, Rang Mahal,The Pearl Mosque etc.) and Raj Ghat ( Set in the midst of deep green lawns, Rajghat is the place where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. A memorial to the father of the nation, Rajghat is a simple square platform with a black memorial stone with "Hey Ram" inscribed on it. "Hey Ram" were the last words uttered by the Mahatma before collapsing after being shot at). Post sightseeing return to your. Spend the evening free at leisure.

Day 03: Delhi - Leh

Early morning, we will transfer you to domestic airport to board flight to Leh (Leh is the the largest town of Ladakh with an area of 45110 Sq Km. The district is bounded by Pakistan occupied Kashmir in the West, China in the north and eastern part, and Lahul Spiti of Himachal Pradesh in South East.The beauty of Leh is that it introduces you best to Ladakh’s ways while you head out for short walks or drive around. Leh stands accessible, surrounded by the majesty of the Himalayan enclave. The experience can best be described as a peek into the delights that make up this ancient trade route) Shikhar Travels’ Representative would receive you at Leh Airport and take you to your hotel. Relax by the courtyard upon arrival. While you enjoy your cup of tea, the room keys will be handed over to you. In the afternoon proceed to visit Leh Palace,Tsemo Gompa and Shanti Stupa. NAMGYAL TSEMO GOMPA Known as the 'Red Gompa' was build in 1430 AD and contains an impressive three story high Maitriya Buddha statue and a one story statue of Avalokitesvara and Manjushri. LEH PALACE This nine storey palace was build in the 17th century by Singay Namgyal and is currently under reconstruction. The view from the palace makes this place worth a visit. SHANTI STUPA This stupa is located on a hilltop and was build by Japanese in order to represent World Peace and was inaugurated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1985. The views of both sunrise and sunset from here is breathtaking. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 04: Leh- Stok-Stanka-Matho-Leh

Morning after breakfast, proceed for a full day excursion to Stok Palace & Museum, Stakna & Matho Monastery. STOK PALACE & MUSEUM Stok Palace was build in 1814 and was where the royal family reside when Ladakh was lost to Zorawar Singh. Five rooms are currently open to visitors and here you can find a unique collection of royal and traditional costumes, old thankas, photographs and jewelry belonging to the royal family. STAKNA MONASTERY This monastery sits like a crown atop a huge rock hill that appears suddenly amidst lush green fields on the left bank of the Indus, a little upstream of Thiksey. MATHO GOMPA Lama Dugpa Dorje founded the Matho Gompa of Ladakh in the 16th century. It is situated on the opposite bank of the River Indus, Matho is the only gompa of Ladakh that belongs to the Saskya order of Tibetan Buddhism. The oracle of the monastery is a priest, who resides in the monastery itself. Evening return to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 05: Leh-Pangong-Takthok-Leh

Morning after breakfast, proceed for a full day excursion to Stok Palace & Museum, Stakna & Matho Monastery. Day 06:Leh - Thiksey - Shey - Leh

Morning after breakfast, we will take you to a guided tour of the Monasteries of the Indus Valley. Your excursion would include visits to, THIKSEY (25 KMS SOUTH OF LEH) Thiksey,one of the most imposing monasteries belonging to the 15th century, stands on a crag overlooking the flood plain on the east bank of the Indus. The monastery belongs to Elugpa order (Yellow sect) . SHEY (15 KMS SOUTH OF LEH) On the East bank of the Indus river lies the beautiful Shey Monastery. Up to the 16th century it was the royal palace. There is a 17.5 m high blue haired Maitreya Buddha of copper, brass gilded and studded with precious gemstones. Return to your hotel by the later part of the afternoon. Evening you can walk down to the nearest market on your own or spend some time at leisure. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 07: Leh - Phiyang - Spituk - Leh

Morning after breakfast, proceed for a full day excursion to Phiyang and Spituk Monastery. PHIYANG MONASTERY This monastery is located 6 km away from the Srinagar-Leh highway and 17 km from Leh. Built in the 16th century and belonging to the Red Cap sect and there are 5 monasteries, different idols, and collection of Thunkus. SPITUK MONASTERY Only 8 Kms. from the Leh city, majestically standing on a hilltop and overlooking the Indus valley is Spituk Gompa. Built in the 15th century, this Gompa belongs to the Gelukpa Order.

Day 08:Leh - Tso Moriri

Morning after proceed drive for Tso Moriri. Afternoon you can explore the Tso Moriri lake and surrounded area. Overnight at Guest House / Campsite.

Day 09: Tso Moriri - Leh

Today early morning drive down to Leh. Enrout visiting Hemis, Thiksey and Shey Monastery. Overnight at hotel in Leh.

Day 10: Leh -Delhi (flight)

Take a flight back to Delhi. Received at the airport and day free till departure transfer to Inter national Airport for early security check-in.
