Overview

Nicknamed “land of the high passes”, Ladakh is marked by its breathtaking barren landscape, marked with absolutely stunning natural beauty. The small town in the northern part of our country is surrounded by the world's tallest mountain ranges and is home to a plethora of different terrains. From deserts to stunning blue waters- the bounty of nature awaits you in Ladakh. To enjoy most of Ladakh - a piece of broken moon land, plan your trip any time from January to May and October to December.

Architecture and archaeology enthusiasts will find Ladakh particularly interesting, because of its ‘gompas’ (the local name for monasteries). These gompas are usually located high on top of mountain peaks, surrounded by rocky mountain terrain. The two monasteries that you must visit while in the city are Hemis (the largest and the most important monastery, built in the 17th century), and Shey (the former royal palace, which was converted into a monastery after the 16th century).

Ladakhis steeped in the Buddhist culture, and religion plays a significant role in the lives of the locals. The people in the town lead a highly spiritual life and hold on to the ancient traditions and customs that have been passed down to them for generations. In this tour of broken moon land, you can experience all of it across Nubra Valley, Leh, Lamayuru, Alchi and other places. Explored in depth for 7 nights, the architecture, culture and scenic beauty of Ladakh make it worth at least one visit in your lifetime.
