Overview

Mount Menthosa (6440 Meters) is the 2nd highest peak in the Lahaul-Spiti province of the state Himachal Pradesh in Northern India. The summit was first achieved in 1970 by a British Service Team led by Capt S. Bembrose. R.E.M.E Capt. R. Cape and Royal Marine Lt. S. Rae were the only two members of the team to reach the summit.

Day 01: Arrive Delhi

Welcome to India- a country where hospitality is a way of life; to a culture steeped in tradition, a land where history lives in music and dance. You will be received at the airport in a traditional manner with garlands and proceed to your hotel or IMF Delhi.

Overnight stay at hotel or IMF Delhi.

Day 02: Delhi

Stay in Delhi for preparation of expedition briefing with IMF Director and Liaison officer.

Meals: Breakfast

Day 03: Delhi – Manali (1950 M)

Today early morning drive to Manali. Upon arrival check in the hotel for overnight stay.

Meals: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner

Day 04: Manali

Full day for acclimatization in Manali you can also visit SolangNala and Old Manali in Manali Town. Back to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 05: Manali – Udaipur (2650 M)

Morning after breakfast, a scenic drive takes you through mighty Rohtang La at 3979M that remains under snow for about six months. After Rohtang, you will start descending to the other side of Rohtang, into the forbidden land of Lahaul, where you encounter a different culture and landscape.

Reach Udaipur. Overnight in hotel/Camp.

Day 06: Udaipur - Tingrit- Urgos (3250 M)

A 23 kms drive to from to Urgos from Udaipur is exhilarating as you witness changing landscapes in a small distance. Approach towards the base camp is through Miyar Valley, which has a rich cultural heritage. Upon reaching Urgos we move towards camp for the night. This will be the time to meet your cook, kitchen helper and porters and off course the trekking guide who will drop you to the base camp tomorrow. Camp.

Day 07: Urgos – Base Camp (4200 M)

The 7 kms hike from Urgos to Menthosa Base Camp is a terrific hike: not too difficult, yet steep enough to warm you up for the climb. Magnificent views of the surrounding peaks gets prettier as you go higher. The last 1000 meters elevation will be a tough climb.

Day 08-19: Base Camp (BC) – Base Camp (BC)

Form day 08 to day 19 Establish higher camps & Attempt peak

Day 20: BC - Urgos – Udaipur

Morning after breakfast, leave the base camp and trek down to reach Urgos. From Urgos drive to Udaipur.

Overnight stay in hotel/tent in Udiapur.

Meals: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner

Day 21: Udaipur - Manali

Morning after breakfast drive back to Manali. Upon arrival check in the hotel for overnight stay.

Meals: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner

Day 22: Manali – Chandigarh

After relaxed morning drive to Chandigarh. Upon arrival check-in the hotel for the overnight stay.

Day 23: Chandigarh – Delhi

Morning after breakfast drive to Delhi and upon arrival check-in the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 24: Depart Delhi

Morning after breakfast visit IMF for De-briefing with IMF Director later in the day transfer to International airport to board flight for onward destination. Meal: - Breakfast

Delhi: Briefing and De-Briefing at Indian Mountaineering Foundation

Manali: Hadimba Devi temple, Old Manali & Rohtang Pass

During Expedition: Trekking, Climbing & Photography

  • Peak booking fee to IMF and relevant authorities
  • Liaison officer fees, Accommodation, Meals and Transportation (Delhi to Delhi)
  • Accommodation on Dbl/Twin Sharing Rooms in hotels/ guest house and camp as per program

Price doesn't Includes:

  • Personal clothing and gears required for climbing by the clients
  • High altitude porter and High altitude food
  • Personal expenses such as table drinks, room’s services items, laundry, telephone calls at hotels or tip etc.
  • Climbing equipments
  • Any additional expenses caused by or liability for disturbance in trip program due to or circumstances, weather conditions, sickness, natural disasters, riots etc.
  • Liability for or insurance against injury, loss of life, accidents or loss of goods.
  • Camera Fees.
  • Any Cargo and Shipment Charges (Import and Custom Clearance)
  • Personal Belongings such as Sleeping Bags, walking sticks etc.


Please ensure your insurance covers you for the heights you are likely to attain and for helicopter rescue as well. When you have chosen and booked your insurance, please provide SHIKHAR TRAVELS with your Insurers name, their 24 hour emergency telephone number and your Policy number with them. Remember, your insurance is not worth the paper it's written on if we don't know the details and you need their assistance.

General Conditions:

  • The prices are on Per Person basis, Nett & Non Commissionable.
  • Upon confirmation of the booking we would require 50% of the total invoice and the balance amount can be paid 60 days prior to the date of arrival.
  • Class of travel on trains may change based on availability at the time of booking
  • All flight/train timings are based on current schedule and are strictly subject to change
  • All prices are subject to any revision of tax and tariff structure

Cancellation policy:

Cancellation Charges: Notice of cancellation must be made in writing in the name of Shikhar Travels (India) Pvt. Ltd.

For cancellation made 4 weeks prior to the scheduled departure, there will be a cancellation fee of 50% of the invoice. For cancellation made within 4 weeks of scheduled departure, there will be cancellation charge of 100% of the invoice.

In certain cases the cancellation policy (including conditions applicable on the advance deposit made/required for holding the reservation) may differ & would be applicable as per the cancellation policy of that hotel / Service provider. This will be charged over & in addition to the cancellation policy.

Unused Services & Refund

No refund will be made for any unused services or other arrangements due to any changes in schedule made by passenger while traveling. However, in certain cases, the refund will be considered as per the policy of the carrier/ hotel/ tour company / or other suppliers used for providing services.

Refund request must be made within 2 weeks of the completion of the trip.

If there is any additional expenses due to bad weather or any other reason beyond the control of the tour operator on account of hotel stay, transportation, and meals etc. extra bill will be raised. Neither Shikhar Travels (I) Pvt. Ltd. nor the participating suppliers/hotels will be responsible for the additional expenses.

Responsibility, Liability, Extra Cost, Prices and Brochure Accuracy - Changes and Errors

All the packages are sold under the business management of Shikhar Travels (I) Pvt. Ltd. and they are in no way to be considered as the principal or operator of the subject services. The right is reserved to cancel or alter any package as conditions require. Neither Shikhar Travels (I) Pvt. Ltd. nor the participating suppliers/hotels will be responsible for the additional expenses due to loss, delay or damage caused by accident, illness, bad weather, strikes / riots, road block etc.

Governing Law

This conditions and each term shall be governed by and constructed in accordance with the laws of India without reference to conflict of laws principles and disputes arising in relation here to shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Delhi.
