Mt. Satopanth (7075 mt)

 
Mt Satopanth It is one of the most popular and challenging peaks in the Indian Himalayas because of its impressive altitude and technical difficulties. The mountain was first attempted from both, the North east and north west ridges by an Austria team in 1938. It was first ascend by Swiss team in 1947 eight years later, since then it has attracted many foreign and Indian expedition; only small number of which have been successful.

Programme Schedule


Day 1 Arrive Delhi.
Met upon arrival and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2 : Delhi
Morning visit I.M.F. for briefing and to clear all the formalities. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Delhi – Rishikesh
Morning after breakfast drive down (225 kms) to reach Rishikesh. Upon arrival check-into the hotel for the overnight stay. Rest of the day free for leisure activities.

Day 4: Rishikesh – Uttarkashi
Morning after breakfast drive to reach Uttarkashi.Afternoon arrive Uttarkashi and check in at hotel/resort.

Day 5: Uttarkashi – Gangotri
Morning after breakfast drive (95 kms) to reach Gangotri (3048 mt) by covering
approx 95 km in 4-5 hrs. Upon arrival check-in at the in at the Guest House. Afternoon free to relax & get acclimatized. In the evening visit Gangotri Temple. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6: Gangotri – Bhojbasa
Morning after breakfast start first days trek to Bhojbasa(3800 mt.) following the river Bhagirathi on right bank by covering approx 14 kms in 4-5 hrs. Trek is full of fascinating Himalayan sights and you can have beautiful views of snow capped peaks around.Upon arrival at Bhojbasa, set up camp for overnight stay.

Day 7: Bhojbasa – Gaumukh – Nandanvan
Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Gaumukh; The Source of Ganges'. The river Bhagirathi emerges from the Gangotri Glacier at Gaumukh.Continue trekking to reach Nandanvan.The whole distance of 10 kms takes 4 -5 hrs. Arrive at the Camp for night stay.

Day 8: Nandanvan
Today free for acclimatization.

Day 9: Nandanvan – Vasukital Base Camp
Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Base Camp area at Vasukital (4200mt).The trail goes along the Chaturangi Glaciar covering 11 kms distance in 3-4 hrs. Arrive and establish Base Camp. Overnight in Tents.

Day 10 to 30:
Establish Higher Camps and Attempt Peak.

Day 31: Base Camp – Nandanvan
Morning after breakfast wind-up the Base camp and trek down to Nandanvan. Overnight stay in Tents.

Day 32: Nandanvan – Chirbasa
Morning after breakfast trek to Chirbasa via Gaumukh and Bhojbasa.Overnight stay in Tents.

Day 33: Chirbasa – Gangotri – Uttarkshi
The last day of the trek covers 8 kms in 2-3 hrs to reach Gangotri. On arrival, drive back to Uttarkashi. Arrive Uttarkashi and check-into at hotel for overnight stay

Day 34 : Uttarkashi – Rishikesh
Morning after breakfast drive back to Rishikesh. Upon arrival check-into the hotel for overnight stay

Day 36: Rishikesh – Delhi
Morning after breakfast drive to Delhi and upon arrival check-in the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 37: Depart Delhi
Morning after breakfast visit to IMF for debriefing. Rest of the free for independent activity. Later transfer to International airport to board flight for onward destination.
