Shivling (6,543m). Shivling is a two summit mountain which lies not far from the snout of the Gangotri Glacier [the largest glacier in the Himalaya]. It is one of the most beautiful peaks in all Garhwal. Due to its unusual shape , it earned its nickname 'Indian Matterhorn']. It has an easy access and easy access, and is very popular among climbers.

Programme Schedule


Day 1 Arrive Delhi.
Met upon arrival and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2 : Delhi
Morning visit I.M.F. for briefing and clear all the formalities. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Delhi – Rishikesh
Morning after breakfast drive down (225 kms) to reach Rishikesh. Upon arrival check-in the hotel for the overnight stay. Rest of the day free for leisure activities.

Day 4: Rishikesh – Uttarkashi
Morning after breakfast drive to reach Uttarkashi.Afternoon arrive Uttarkashi and check in at hotel/resort.

Day 5: Uttarkashi – Gangotri
Morning after breakfast drive (90 kms) to reach Gangotri (3048 mt) by covering
approx 90 km in 4-5 hrs. Upon arrival check-into the Guest House. Afternoon free to relax & get acclimatized. In the evening visit Gangotri Temple. Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 6: Gangotri – Bhojbasa
Morning after breakfast start first days trek to Bhojbasa(3800 mt.) following the river Bhagirathi on right bank by covering approx 14 kms in 4-5 hrs. Trek is full of fascinating Himalayan sights and you can have beautiful views of snow capped peaks around.Upon arrival at Bhojbasa, set up camp for overnight stay.

Day 7: Bhojbasa – Gaumukh – Tapovan Base Camp
Morning after breakfast start trekking (5 kms / 2 hrs) to reach Gaumukh; The Source of River Ganges'. The river Bhagirathi emerges from the Gangotri Glacier at Gaumukh. After spending some time at Gaumukh, continue trekking (6 kms /3hrs) to reach Tapovan (4400 mt). The trek crosses Gangotri glacier from right to left bank before climbing to Tapovan plains. Tapovan is a beautiful high altitude meadow and base camp for Shivling peak..Overnight stay in camp.

Day 8 to Day 33:
Establish Higher Camps and Attempt Peak.

Day 34: Base Camp – Chirbasa
Morning after breakfast windup Base Camp and return trek to start trek for Chirbasa (3600 mt) through Bojbasa covering aprox 14 kms in 4-5 hrs.. Walk down from the main trail and setup camp close to the river.

Day 35: Chirbasa – Gangotri – Uttarkashi
The last day of the trekking covering 8 kms in 2-3 hrs to reach Gangotri. On arrival, drive back to Uttarkashi. Arrive Uttarkashi and check-in at hotel/resort for overnight stay

Day 36 : Uttarkashi – Rishikesh
Morning after breakfast drive back to Rishikesh. Upon arrival check-into the hotel for the overnight stay

Day 37: Day 34: Rishikesh – Delhi
Morning after breakfast drive to Delhi and upon arrival check-into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 38: Depart Delhi
Morning after breakfast visit to IMF for debriefing. Rest of the free for independent activity. Later transfer to International airport to board flight for onward destination.
