Baba Budanagiri Hills

 This is the district where the Iron Lady of India had a lot to be greatful for a Chikmangalur. This is the district where the crescent shaped Baba Budanagiri Range stretches for 80km, rising majestically to an average height of 1500 to 1900m and blending seamlessly with the Western Ghats. This is the free range of the endangered Tiger, Bonnet Macaque, Gaur, Elephant, Spotted deer and Nilgai. Over 250 bird species, over 300 precious medicinal plants and herbs, orchids and flowers and varities of bamboo and timber trees flourish here. |

Day 1: Chikmaglure - MullaiyanagiriIts a 14km trek with easy level. Morning drive from Chikmagalur to Kemmannagundi and just 6km down the road, get off at the arch that says Sarpanadari, looks like a trail of the snake. After reaching Kemmannagundi and 3km ahead ther is trail leading to the Mullaiyanagiri Peak (1925m).
Day 2: Mullaiyanagiri - Baba Budanagiri:Today its 18km trek with easy level. Almost after thousand meters descend to north-east of the Mullaiyanagiri peak there is a walk towards the Baba Budanagiri.
Day 3: Baba Budanagiri-Kemmannagundi:Morning after the visit of Baba Bundanagiri shrine you will trek 14km to Kemmannagundi which is again a easy trek. Trek leads through the lush coffee estates and scrub forest, through large bare crevasses made by strip mining and then up north-west to the Kemmannagundi hill station (1434m).
Day 4: Kemmannagundi-Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary:Todays its 12kms easy trek towards the western ghats. Today we will see the Hebbe Fall which 160m high and after clim another 2 km from this fall we will witness 122m Kalhatti Falls. after trek parllel to stat road we will reach to Muthodi and Bhadra Wildlife sanctuary.
