Green Lake Tour - North Sikkim
This is one region very few trekkers have visited before. The trek to Green Lakes , the base camp of Mount Khanchendzonga on the Zemu Galcier in North Sikkim is a splendid walk with the variety of flowers like rhododendrons , blue poppies and primulas all in bloom. The mountain views are fantastic with amphitheater of peaks with Khanchendzonga at the head of the valley. |

Day 1: Arrive Kolkata :Arrive Kolkata. Met upon arrival at international airport and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2: Kolkata - Bagdogra - Gangtok :Morning after breakfast transfer to domestic airport in time to board flight for Bagdogra. Met upon arrival and transfer Gangtok by covering appox 110 kms in 04 to 05 hrs. Arrive Gangtok and check into hotel for overnight stay.
Day 3: Gangtok :Morning after breakfast procced for full day city tour covering Rumtek Monastry, Do Drul Chorten, Tebitology, Orchid Sanctury and Enchey monastery. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 4: Gangtok - Lachen :Morning after an early breakfast drive to reach Lachen via Mangan by covering appox 130 kms in 05 - 06 hrs. Lunch at Mangan. Arrive Lachen and overnight stay at PWD Bungalow.
Day 5: Lachen - Thangu - Jogtong :Drive 12 km to Thangu (confluence of Zemu Chu and Lachen Chu). From here start trek to reach Jagthang along Zemu Chu river. The trek is along the Zemu Chu through shrubs and pine forest. Arrive Jogtong and camp along a small stream for overnight stay.
Day 6: Jogtong - Yabuk :Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Yabuk by covering approx 12 kms. The trek is steady for some time and then it starts a gradual and then steep ascent and descent till the Log hut shultering under a huge rock. Arrive Yabuk and overnight stay in tents.
Day 7: Yabuk :Rest day for acclamatisation. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 8: Yabuk - Rest Camp :Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Rest Camp by covering approx 10 kms. The path is along the Zumu Chu almost gradual climb in open barren mountain range. The last few kms is a steep climb over the ridge. Arrive Rest Camp is a platform right opposite MT.SINIOLCHU one of the most beautiful snow covered peaks in the Himalayan ranges. Arrive and camp for overnight stay.
Day 9: Rest Camp - Green Lake :Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Green Lake by covering appox 08 kms. Green lake is the Base Camp for many expeditions to peaks like Twins Peak, Tent Peak, Sugar Loaf, Nepal Peak, Tent Peak etc. This is a huge fresh water lake fed by many glaciers. But in summer the lake goes dry. Arrive Green Lake and camp for overnight stay.
Day 10: Green Lake :Full day free to explore the area. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 11: Green Lake - Yabuk :Morning after breakfast start trekking (18 km) to reach Yabuk via Rest Camp. Arrive Yabuk and overnight stay in tents.
Day 12: Yabuk - Zeme - Lachen :Morning after breakfast start trekking (17 km) to reach Zeme. Upon arrival get into to waiting jeeps and drive (12 km) to reach Lachen. Arrive Lachen and overnight stay at PWD Bungalow.
Day 13: Lachen - Gangtok :Morning after breakfast drive (130 km) to reach Gangtok. Lunch enroute. Arrive Gangtok and check into hotel for overnight stay.
Day 14: Gangtok - Bagdogra - Kolkata :Morning after breakfast drive to Bagdogra in time to board flight to Kolkata. Met upon arrival and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.
Day 15: Depart Kolkata :Proceed for half day city tour of Kolkata. Afternoon free, evening transfer to international airport to board flight for onward destination.
