The Kudremukh or Horse Face Range is situated 95 Kms southwest of Chickmagalur town (State -\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0Karnatka) \u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0named as because of the unique Horse face like shape of the Kudremukh peak which has the highest elevation at 1892 metres.<\/p>\n

There is a wide variety of flora and fauna in the park. The park is covered with thick hilly forests, mostly evergreen and semi-evergreen near the coastal plains on the western portion; and the shoal\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153grassland habitat at elevations above 1400m on the Western Ghats. Plantations of Eucalyptus, Casuarina, Acacia auriculiformis and Grevillea Robusta are found here. The park is surrounded by Coffee and Tea plantations on the northern and eastern boundaries.The wild animals seen in the park include tiger, leopard, wild dog, jackal, lion-tailed macaque, common langur, sloth bear, gaur, sambar, spotted deer, barking deer, Malabar giant squirrel, giant flying squirrel, porcupine and the mongoose.<\/p>\n

The Kadambi Waterfalls is one of the major attractions of Kudremukh National Park. It\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0is also a trekker\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s paradise with a number of tracks winding through the rolling hills.Most imp. \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 \u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0One has to get the permission from the Range Officers for trekking inside the park.<\/p>\n

The nearby attractions of Kudremukh National Park are the centers of pilgrimage like Ganga Moola,\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0Sringeri\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0Sharada Peetham and\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0Horanadu Annapoorneshwari Temple.<\/p>\n
