Bali Pass Trek itinerary
Day 1: Dehradun to Sankri – Drive
Your journey begins from Dehradun, the capital city of Uttarakhand. Drive through the scenic Himalayan foothills toward Sankri, a small and charming village located on the edge of Govind Pashu Vihar National Park. The drive passes through picturesque valleys, forests, and mountain villages before reaching Sankri in the evening.

Day 2: Sankri – Drive to Dhatmeer – Trek to Seema
After breakfast, take a short drive from Sankri to Dhatmeer, the last motorable point. From here, begin the trek through dense forests of walnut, chestnut, pine, and other Himalayan trees. The trail follows the beautiful Supin River and passes small Himalayan villages before reaching Seema, a peaceful campsite surrounded by forests.

Day 3: Seema to Devsu Thatch
Today’s trek continues along the Supin River through dense forests and rocky trails. After crossing a wooden bridge over the river, the trail climbs steadily toward the beautiful alpine meadow of Devsu Thatch, which offers spectacular views of Kala Nag (Black Peak).

Day 4: Devsu Thatch to Ruinsara Tal
Today you trek deeper into the valley toward the stunning Ruinsara Tal, a pristine high-altitude lake surrounded by alpine meadows and rhododendron bushes. The campsite near the lake offers magnificent views of Bandarpoonch, Kala Nag, and surrounding peaks.

Day 5: Ruinsara Tal to Odari
Today’s trek is relatively short but scenic. Descend briefly toward the Supin River before climbing toward Odari, a high-altitude campsite known for its natural rock caves. According to local folklore, the cave here was once used by Bali, the brother of Lord Hanuman.

Day 6: Odari to Base Camp
Today’s trek takes you to the Bali Pass Base Camp, walking along narrow ridges and steep mountain slopes. The campsite sits at a high altitude and offers breathtaking views of surrounding snow-covered peaks.

Day 7: Base Camp – Bali Pass – Lower Dhamni
This is the most challenging and exciting day of the trek. Start early in the morning and climb toward Bali Pass (4,950 m) through snow slopes and steep terrain. From the pass, enjoy breathtaking 360-degree views of the Garhwal Himalayan ranges including Swargarohini and Bandarpoonch peaks. After spending some time at the pass, descend through steep scree slopes and narrow trails to reach Lower Dhamni campsite.

Day 8: Lower Dhamni – Yamunotri – Janki Chatti – Drive to Barkot
Begin the final trekking day through forests leading to the sacred temple town of Yamunotri, the origin of the Yamuna River. Pilgrims often take a dip in the natural hot water springs here. After visiting the temple, descend along the pilgrim trail to Janki Chatti. From here, drive to Barkot for a comfortable overnight stay.
