About the Peak:-

Mt. Kun is part of the twin peak mountain massif the Nun Kun peaks consisting of two of the tallest mountain peaks of the Great Himalayas Mt. Nun and Mt. Kun. An above 7,000-metre peak, Mt. Kun towers over most of the peaks located in the undulating ruggedness of the forbidding Zanskar rangemeasuring an impressive 7,035 meters in hight. Whereas at 7,135 meters (23,409 feet), Mt. Nun is the highest peak in the state of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) in the Indian part of the Himalayas in the Zanskar range.

The two towering peaks, along with the third highest Pinnacle Peak (6,930 metres) on the Nun Kun massif, offers the most spectacular view of the Zanskar range and the beautiful Suru Valley. The twin peaks are separated from each other by a high snowy plateau of four kilometres. The Nun Kun peaks, along with Pinnacle and their other satellites peaks on the massif, the Barmal and White Needle form a beautiful horse-shoe shape above the SuruRiver on the border of Kashmir and Zanskar.
