Located on the right side of this mountain is ‘Kinnar Kailash’ and on the left side it is connected to ‘Great Himalayan National Park’.

Mythological significance:

The mythology of Shrikhand Mahadev is that the demon Bhasmasura had asked for a boon from Lord Shiva in return for his penance that he will be consumed by anyone who puts his hands on it. Due to the demon tendency she decided to marry Mata Parvati. Therefore, Bhasmasur planned to devour Lord Shiva with his hands. Lord Shiva reached Shrikhand and entered the Devadhanka cave located in Nirmand and shrunk as Shrikhand Shila. Lord Vishnu, on the other hand, took the form of Mother Parvati to destroy Bhasmasura’s intention and consequently persuaded Bhasmasura to dance with him. During the dance, Bhasmasura placed his hands on his own head and was consumed.

This place can still be a red colored earth in Bhima Duari. Even after Bhasmasura was over, when Lord Shiva did not come out of the rock form of Shrikhand, then Ganesh, Karthikeyan and Maa Parvati did severe penance at this place, then Mahadev Shrikhand came out by fragmenting the rock like Shivling.

Thanks for such a wonderful piece of information. I love trekking but there isn’t much to do here, and secondly office makes it way too difficult and so this time I had planned a trip locally to this adventure park in Pune city https://www.diamondparks.com/ and it is the best adventure park I have ever been to, they have a water park as well! To top it, they also have a place for camping which makes it so fun altogether. They have 29 adventure rides and each of them is just so amazing!
