Overview
Eiger (3,967 m) is one of the most legendary and technically demanding peaks in the Swiss Alps, renowned worldwide for its dramatic North Face (Eigerwand) and challenging alpine routes.
Located above the picturesque village of Grindelwald in Switzerland, the Eiger is part of the famous trio — Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau — dominating the Bernese Alps skyline. While the North Face is reserved for elite climbers, the normal route via the Mittellegi Ridge offers an exhilarating and highly technical alpine climb for experienced mountaineers.
The ascent involves exposed ridgelines, rock climbing sections, fixed ropes, and narrow snow arêtes. It demands excellent technical climbing ability, strong endurance, and prior alpine experience.
Climbers will traverse one of the most aesthetic ridges in the Alps, with breathtaking views of glaciers and surrounding peaks. The summit offers a spectacular panorama across the Bernese Alps, making the effort truly rewarding.
