Gujarat with Diu Tour itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Ahmedabad

Upon arrival in Ahmedabad City, first, check-in to a budget hotel of your choice and plan for a visit to the Gandhi Ashram standing just next to the banks of River Sabarmati. Now, this place has been converted into a museum in the memory of our father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi who orchestrated his very famous Dandi March from this very place. Next, you can visit the very famous Hutheesing Jain Temple nearby to admire the true beauty of the very intricate carvings of this temple. Then, the mesmerizing grandeur of Akshardham temple is all waiting for your appreciation, and it will surely leave you spell-bound. Get back to your hotel to recharge yourself in preparation for the next day of your journey.

Day 2: Ahmedabad to Jamnagar (330 km)

Start your day with the morning breakfast and get ready to check out and leave for Jamnagar via road. Enroute, you will find a beautifully carved ancient steep well, a true marvel in itself of glorious Indian architecture. By evening, you will reach the Shri Bala Hanuman Sankirtan Mandir southeast of Lakhota Lake. This temple holds an exquisite Guinness Book of World Record for a maximum number of times chanting of Hanuman Mantra. Retire to bed and stay overnight at the City of Jamnagar.

Day 3: Jamnagar to Dwarka (150 km)

Post your morning breakfast, you can check out from the hotel for a drive towards Dwarka by road. Later, check into the hotel in Dwarka and after relaxing a bit, proceed to enjoy the local sightseeing there.

The Dwarkadhish Temple– With an age-old history of around 2500 years, this temple is endowed with a Chalukya style of architecture, and is dedicated to Lord Krishna. The 5 storied holy place is majestic in itself and needs no highlight further.

The Nageshvar Jyotirlinga - One of the twelve well-known existent temples, this Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple also houses a strange myth about its origin. The beautiful, artistic Lord Shiva statue mesmerizes the tourists as well as pilgrims coming from all across the globe with its high aesthetic appeal.

The Bet Dwarka–This is located around 30 km from the main Dwarka town. Bet Dwarka happens to be a small island and it was the supreme port in this area before the Okha development. Though the island has been enclosed by some temples, white sand beaches as well as coral reefs, still the beach remains the best tourist attraction for the colorful marine life, beach-side camping, sea excursions, and beach picnics.

The Rukmini Temple– This is a small structure that forms an important holy shrine dedicated to Lord Krishna's beloved consort, Rukmini Devi. Though this may not be a very majestically gigantic structure, still this holy site is an architectural marvel.

Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Dwarka.

Day 4: Enjoy a 5-hour drive from Dwarka to Somnath (240 km)

After having your morning breakfast meal at the hotel, travel to Somnath. On your way, you will be visiting the Kirti Mandir, the famous Mandir in Porbandar, the Haveli, in which, Gandhi Ji was born, and which has now been converted into a museum. You will also visit the Sudama Temple, which was built in the honor of friendship between Lord Krishna and his friend, Sudama. Once you reach Somnath, you can then head to the Somnath Temple as well as the Bhalka Tirth Temple, where Lord Krishna is believed to have been shot in the foot accidentally. You can take a rest in Somnath during the night.

You can even spot crocodiles here at the reservoir and rivers that are flowing through the entire sanctuary. In the noontime, you will be going for a Jungle Safari at the National Park. The night stay will be at Gir.

Day 6: Diu Calling! (110 km from Gir)
