Overview

If you are planning to climb an easy peak and then your next goal is a challenging peak, This expedition is for you. Since you can complete both your goal in one go. This is a combo expedition of two different mountains which is Mount Kun 7077 meters (23218 Feet) and Mount Kang Yatse II 6240 meters (20472 Feet). Duration of this expedition is 29 days which is divided in 2 parts, First part is 12 days and the second part is 17 days. Fist part will start from Delhi and then we fly to Leh after few days of acclimatization in Leh town you will trek through Markha valley and reach the base camp of Mt. Kang Yatse where you will have an opportunity to climb one of the highest trekking peak of India. After climbing this beautiful mountain you will back to Leh to take some rest before getting ready for a big one. Now you will join by other member in Leh for the second part of the expedition which is Mt. Kun 7077 M second highest peak in Suru valley of Ladakh.

DAY 01: ARRIVE DELHI

Upon arrival, you will meet our representative at IGI Delhi airport. You will be assisted and transferred to hotel for check in and overnight stay.

Meals: No Meal

DAY 02: DELHI

After relaxed breakfast at the hotel, Proceed to Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) to attend the briefing with IMF Official and Liaison Officer of your Expedition. Afternoon and evening free at leisure. Overnight stay in the hotel.

DAY 03: DELHI- LEH (3,524 M)

Today early Morning we will transfer you to the Delhi airport to board the flight to Leh. Arrive Leh and check-in hotel. Rest of the day at for acclimatization in Leh. Overnight stay in Hotel at Leh

Meals: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner

DAY 04: LEH

The morning after breakfast, We will take you to a hike for Shanti Stupa and Leh Palace. Rest of the day free for acclimatization and shopping in Leh. Overnight stay in hotel.

DAY 05: LEH – CHILLING – MARKHA (3,700 M)

After breakfast, drive to Chilling, Cross the Zanskar river and follow the trail to Markha valley, drive before Markha Village and trek up to the village, Markha is the largest village in the valley with around 20 households. Upon arrival set up the camp. We can also visit an old monastery nearby in the evening.

DAY 06: MARKHA – THACHUNGTSE (4,010 M)

Today after breakfast trek to Thachungtse. We shall be crossing river and come across Hankar en route to Thochuntse. Hankar is the highest village in Markha Valley. If weather is good, we can see Mt. Kang Yatse today. Dinner and overnight stay in tent at Thachungtse.

DAY 07: THACHUNGTSE – BASE CAMP (5,200 M)

After breakfast start your trek to Base Camp (5200m). We will be crossing a number of gentle slopes and a chain of glassy ridges of Nimaling place with green pasture where during summers, you can spot thousands of sheep, goats, yaks grazing and prayer walls. Towards the south is Kang Yatse (Nimaling Peak) (6400m). Overnight stay in tents.

DAY 08-09: ACCLIMATIZATION DAY

Two days for acclimatization We will hike around the base camp and come back to base camp for overnight stay.

DAY 10: BASE CAMP – SUMMIT KANG YETSE II - BASE CAMP

Today we will wake up at mid night and start our trek to summit Mt Kang Yestse II (6240 M). From the summit you will have a beautiful view of Zanskar range and the distant Karakoram. Descend to Base Camp for overnight stay in camp.

DAY 11: RESERVE DAY FOR SUMMIT

Reserve day for summit in case of bad weather. Overnight stay in base camp.

DAY 12: BASE CAMP – CHAKDO – LEH

Morning after breakfast trek down to Chakdo village and drive to Leh. Upon arrival check in the hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 13: LEH - KARGIL (2,676 M)

After breakfast check out from hotel and 230 Kms drive to Kargil, Lunch En-route. Upon arrival in Kargil check in the hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 14: KARGIL - SHAFAT NALA (3650 M)

Morning after early breakbast drive to Shafat nala via Parkachik. On arrival establish your camp at Shafat Nala. Overnight stay in tent.

DAY 15: SHAFAT NALA - BASE CAMP (4,540 M)

Morning after breakfast trek to base camp. Upon arrival set up the base camp for overnight stay.

Meals: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner

DAY 16-25: BASE CAMP – SUMMIT – BASE CAMP

Next 10 days for Establish Higher camp i.e C1, C2 and Summit camp & Attempt to Submit Mt. Kun (7077 M) and trek back to Base camp.

Meal: All meals including high altitude food

Get acclimatization for high altitude.

DAY 17: BASE CAMP TO CAMP 1 (5490 M)

Climb and establish Camp 1

DAY 18: ACCLIMATIZATION DAY

Day for acclimatization.

DAY 19: CAMP 1 TO CAMP 2 (6075 M)

Climb up to Camp 2

DAY 20 ACCLIMATIZATION DAY

Day for acclimatization and Lod ferry.

DAY 21: CAMP 2 TO SUMMIT CAMP (6380 M)

Climb to Summit camp

DAY 22: SUMMIT CAMP – SUMMIT (7077 M) – CAMP 2

DAY 23 & 24: RESERVE DAY FOR SUMMIT

Two days reserve for summit

DAY 25: CAMP 2 – BASE CAMP

Back to Base Camp

DAY 26: BASE CAMP – SHAFAT NALA - KARGIL

Trek down to Shafat Nala and Drive to Kargil. Upon arrival check in the hotel for overnight stay.

Meals: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner

DAY 27: KARGIL - LEH

The morning after relaxed breakfast checkout from hotel and drive to Leh. Upon arrival check in the hotel. Evening free at leisure. Overnight stay in the hotel.

DAY 28: LEH – DELHI

Morning check-out from the hotel and transfer to Leh airport to catch the flight to Delhi. Arrival Delhi and transfer to IMF Delhi for (De-briefing). Later in the day check-in the hotel. Overnight stay in the hotel.

DAY 29: DELHI DEPART

Morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to IGI airport Delhi to fly back to home.

All transportation by AC tourist vehicle in Delhi and by Non-AC Jeeps in Mountain areas as per the program.
Services of mountain guide during Mt. Kang Yatse II expedition
Services of mountain guide and high altitude Sherpas for route opening, rope fixing and establishing high camps during Mt. Kun expedition.
Liaison officer fees, accommodation, meals and transportation (Delhi to Delhi including airfare).
Services of Shikhar Travels Sardar (base camp Manger), Cook and Kitchen helper till and at base camp
All meals as per above-mentioned program including high altitude food (after Base Camp).
Complete kitchen and camp equipment’s till base camp.
First aid kit with Oxygen cylinder.
Accommodation in tents during approach March and at Base Camp i.e. one tent for 2 person.
We will provide all meals to guests, all staff and Liaison officer during the expedition.
Transportation of members luggage maximum 40 Kgs per person road heads to Base Camp and Base Camp to road head by porters/Ponies.
Climbing equipment i.e, Fix rope, Climbing rope, High altitude tent, Carabiner, Snow bar, Ice piton, High altitude Gas Cartage etc.

All current taxes including Govt. service tax of 5%

Personal clothing and gears required for climbing (Personal Climbing equipment)
Any kind of insurance.
Personal expenses such as table drinks, rooms services items, laundry, telephone calls at hotels or tips etc.
Personal high altitude porter
Any additional expenses caused by or liability for a disturbance in the trip program due to our circumstances, weather conditions, sickness, natural disasters, riots etc.
Any other service or item which is not mentioned as “Price Includes”.
