Overview
Lenin Peak (7,134 m) is one of the most famous 7000-meter mountains in the world and is located in the majestic Pamir Mountains on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Known for its breathtaking landscapes, vast glaciers, and high-altitude challenges, Lenin Peak is considered one of the most accessible 7000-meter expeditions for experienced mountaineers.
The expedition begins from Osh, a historic city in southern Kyrgyzstan, followed by a scenic drive to Achik-Tash Base Camp (3,600 m) in the beautiful Alay Valley. From here, climbers gradually ascend through a series of camps across glaciers and high-altitude ridges.
Although Lenin Peak is not highly technical compared to other 7000-meter mountains, it demands excellent physical fitness, high-altitude experience, and strong mental endurance. The climb involves glacier travel, steep snow slopes, and exposure to extreme weather conditions.
The expedition normally takes about three weeks, including multiple acclimatization rotations and rest days to ensure a safe and successful summit attempt.
Climbing Lenin Peak offers an extraordinary opportunity to explore the remote wilderness of Central Asia, surrounded by towering peaks, vast glaciers, and dramatic alpine landscapes.
With the experienced leadership and logistics support of Shikhar Travels, climbers receive professional guidance throughout the journey.
