Pre-Convention Tour: Kaohsiung to Taipei - Rotary International Convention 2026 – Taiwan itinerary
Day 01 – 11 June 2026: Arrive Kaohsiung
Welcome to Southern Taiwan! Upon arrival at Kaohsiung International Airport, you will meet an English-speaking local representative and transfer by private coach to your hotel. After checking in and refreshing from your journey, you can spend the evening at leisure or take a short orientation drive to get familiar with the city. For those interested, there is an optional evening excursion to the renowned Liuhe Night Market, one of Kaohsiung’s oldest and liveliest food streets, where you can enjoy local delicacies like oyster omelets, grilled squid, and bubble tea. Dinner will be served either at a local Taiwanese restaurant or the hotel buffet, with overnight stay in Kaohsiung.
Day 02 – Kaohsiung City Highlights
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a full-day sightseeing tour of Kaohsiung, Taiwan’s southern cultural capital. The first stop is the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum, Taiwan’s largest Buddhist monastery, where you will see the magnificent 108-meter tall Fo Guang Big Buddha and explore eight surrounding pagodas with a guided walk introducing Buddhist art and philosophy. Next, visit the scenic Lotus Pond area, home to beautiful temples and pavilions, including the famous Dragon and Tiger Pagodas, where passing through the dragon’s mouth and exiting from the tiger’s symbolizes turning bad luck into good fortune. Then explore the Pier-2 Art Center, a former warehouse district now transformed into a vibrant arts hub with murals, installations, and shops perfect for photos and souvenirs. End the day with a relaxing evening cruise along Kaohsiung’s romantic Love River, illuminated beautifully at night. Lunch and dinner will be at local restaurants during the tour, and overnight stay will be in Kaohsiung.
Day 03 – Kaohsiung to Taipei by High-Speed Train
After breakfast and checking out from the hotel, transfer to Zuoying Station to board the Taiwan High-Speed Rail (HSR) to Taipei. The journey covers nearly 350 km and takes about 1.5 hours. Upon arrival in Taipei, you will meet your local Taipei team and check in to the hotel, ready for the next phase of your trip.
Day 04: 14 June - Convention Opening and Sightseeing
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel on 14 June, then transfer to the Rotary Convention for the opening ceremony. After the convention, proceed to a 2-hour sightseeing session featuring Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall for the changing of the guards. Return for dinner at an Indian restaurant and overnight in Taipei.
Day 05: 15 June - Convention and Northern Coast
Start with hotel breakfast on 15 June, followed by a guide-accompanied transfer to the convention. Post-convention, embark on a 2-hour scenic visit to Yehliu Geo Park to view unique rock formations like Queen's Head and Mushroom Rock. Return to Taipei for overnight stay.
Day 06: 16 June - Convention and Shifen Village
Breakfast at the hotel on 16 June, then head to the convention with your guide. After sessions, enjoy a 2-hour excursion to Shifen Village, including a visit to Shifen Waterfall and releasing a sky lantern with wishes (shared for 4 pax). Dinner and overnight in Taipei.
Day 07: 17 June - Convention Closing and Departure
Have breakfast at the hotel on 17 June, then transfer to the Rotary Convention Center for the closing ceremony at a TBA time. Check out from the hotel and proceed to the airport for departure.
