THE FORT OF VICTORY – VIJAYANAGARA’Tour itinerary

DAY 01 BANGALORE – HAMPI (DRIVE: 350KM – 8/9HRS APPROX)

Morning on arrival at Bangalore our Shikhar Travels Representative will take you to Hospet/Hampi.  Evening arrive Hospet/Hampi check in at the hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.

Meal Plan:Lunch (Own Arrangement) + Dinner.

DAY 02 HAMPI SIGHT SEEING

Morning set your turn for an excursion to Hampi - also known as ‘ THE FORT OF VICTORY – VIJAYANAGARA’, situated on the banks of the river Tungabhadra in the region of Bellary, is a vast site of monuments and ruins, a mute witness to an era of glories, triumphs and tragedies. The ruins of Hampi, are so majestic and imposing that they leave the visitor totally dumbfounded, awestruck and humbled. Visit the Virupaksha Temple, rises majestically at the western end of a 670m long street that was once the famous Hampi bazaar. This is the only temple at Hampi that is still used for worship. The most splendid monument of Hampi is undoubtedly The Vitthala Temple Complex. The 56 pillars in the main hall produce musical notes when struck.Visit Sasivekalu Ganesha Templea UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the Sasivekalu Ganesha temple. It houses a monolithic statue of Ganesha measuring about 8 feet. carved out of a single boulder. The inscription on the statue dates back to 1506 AD and informs us that this statue was erected by a trader from Chandragiri, in memory of the king Narasimha II of the Vijayanagar Empire. The Ganesha is seen in a half-lotus position with four arms. To the north of Sasivekalu Ganesha is another giant statue of Ganesha, called the Kadalekalu Ganesha. Hampi is full of such surprises.

 Return back to Hotel. DinnerandOvernight stay at the hotel.

DAY 03 HOSPET/HAMPI – BADAMI (D:140km 3.30hrs approx.) – AIHOLE (D:36km 1hrs approx.)  – HOSPET/HAMPI

Morning after an early breakfast depart for Badami. Arrive at Badami visit Cave Temples – dedicated to Vishnu and Shiva, North Fort. Lunch at local Restaurant. Later proceed for Aihole Temple. Post Sight Seeing return to Hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.

CAVE TEMPLE : The Badami cave temples are a complex of temples located at Badami, a town in the Bagalkot District in the north part of Karnataka, India. They are considered an example of Indian rock-cut architecture, especially Badami Chalukya Architecture.

AIHOLE : Aihoḷe is a temple complex in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka, India. It is a very popular tourist spot in north Karnataka. It lies to the east of Pattadakal, along the Malaprabha River, while Badami is to the west of both.

DAY 04HOSPET/HAMPI – BANGALORE

After breakfast check out from the hotel and depart for Bangalore. Upon arrival at Bangalore our Tour Concludes. Depart for onward destination.
