A perfect Jeep Safari through the sandy deserts of Rupshu region. Breathtaking views of most beautiful lakes of Ladakh. Tso Moriri 4572 mt. Tso Kar 4485 mt. Tasang Tso 4200 mt. This region also abound in Himalayan wildlife like marmots , mountain goats , wild Tibetan foxes , Bar headed Goose , Great Crested Grebe , Brahmini Duck etc. Drive past many small villages and monasteries en route.
Day 7: Leh - Chuma-Thang
Morning drive to reach Chuma-Thang (3965 M) by covering 140 kms. This place is famous for its hot water springs. En route drive past beautiful villages of Nurnis, Kery, Kishar and Kadgam. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.
Day 8: Chuma Thang - Sumdo
Morning drive to Sumdo. Enroute stop at Mahe Bridge from where the road crosses to the south bank of the river by a bridge and then follows the unmettled road through Puga stream up to join Sumdo village. Upon arrival in Sumdo checkin at the camp and later visit the monastery of Sumdo which is famous for its well preserved painting.
Day 9: Sumdo - Korzok
Morning to Karzok (4,572 mt) the only village near Tsomoriri Lake. The jeep safari from Sumdo to Tsomoriri is one of the most interesting as it goes through sandy deserts & rocky paths. Drive past the isolated Thasang Tso - a small tourquise lake which appears like an emarald of a queens necklace. Arrive Karzok by afternoon and set-up camp for overnight stay. In the afternoon, visit KORZOK MONASTERY with its dimly lit prayer halls.
Day 10: Korzok
Day free to explore the Lake area and the village. TSO-MORIRI LAKE is one of the most breathtaking fresh water lakes in Ladakh. The lake is considered sacred by the locals. The Lake is surrounded by beautiful peaks like Mt. Mentok, Mt Kharlung, Mt Kurchu and Mt Lungser Kangri.
Day 11: Korzok - Tsokar
Morning drive to reach Tsokar via puga by covering 75 kms in 3-4 hours. Tsokar lake 4485 mt is also called as white lake because of salt deposit around it. It is approx 45 kms northwest of the Tsomoriri lake. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 12: Tsokar - Leh
Morning drive to Leh via Thukje Gompa. Join Manali-Leh highway and drive down to Leh via Tanglang-la (5224 mt.) - the 2nd highest motorable road in Ladakh. Enroute drive pass beautiful villages of Rumtse, Gia, Meeru which stands like an oasis. Arrive Leh and check into hotel for overnight stay.
Day 13: Leh - Delhi
Morning after an early breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport to board flight to Delhi. Shikhar Travels’ Representative will receive you at Delhi Airport and transfer to your hotel (Day Use Room till 2000 Hrs.). You can spend the rest of the day at leisure or take an optional tour of New Delhi covering Rashtrapati Bhawan, India Gate and Qutub Minar. You will check-out in the evening and proceed for your farewell dinner in one of the Indian Speciality Local Restaurants. “Momentos” will be given to you as a token of love before our representative escorts you to the International Airport to board flight for onward destination.
