Overview

Yamunotri is one of the sacred Dhams in the Himalayas for the Hindus. Yamuna River originates from Yamunotri. The temple is approachable by road and short trek from Jankichatti. However, to making more interesting & adventurous, the route is little away from the normal pilgrimage route. Passing through many lakes like Dodital , Ruinsara Lake and Yamunotri Pass, the trek to Yamunotri becomes an adventure pilgrimage. Places on the way of this trek are Rishikash, Uttarkashi, Bhewada, Dodital, Darba Top, Kanasara, Hanumanchatti, Janaki Chatti, Ruinsara Lake, Devathach, Hari Ki Dun, Seema, Datmi, Sankri, Naugaon, Dehradun.

Yamunotri Pass Trek, Garhwal Himalaya, Uttarakhand itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Delhi

Arrive Delhi. Met on arrival at Delhi international airport and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Delhi - Rishikesh

Morning afteer breakfast drive to reach Rishikesh by covering appox. 220 kms in 05 - 06 hrs. Arrive and check- into hotel. Afternoon proceed for sightseeing tour of Rishikesh. Visit Yoga Ashrams and temples. In the evening, witness Ganga Aarti. Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 3: Rishikesh - Uttarkashi

Morning drive (155 km) to Uttarkashi (1150 mt). Uttarkashi is the base of many trekking and mountaineering activities in Gangotri Valley. Also India's premier Mountaineering institute 'Nehru Mountaineering Institute' is situated at Uttarkashi. In the afternoon proceed for sightseeing tour of Uttarkashi. Overnight stay at resort.

Day 4: Uttarkashi - Kalyani - Bhewda

Morning after breakfast drive to the road head Kalyani (1550 M) and from here start your first day's 17 km trek to Bhewda (2160 Mt) few km after Agoda (2050 M) by covering appox 17 kms in 03 to 04 hrs. The trek leads through dense forest. On arrival set-up camp for overnight stay.

Day 5: Bhewda - Dodital

Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Dodital (3024 M) by covering appox 13 kms in 4-5 hr. Dodital a beautiful Lake surrounded by forests of Pine, Deodar, Oak etc. Lake is full of Golden Trouts. Overnight stay in tented camp.

Day 6: Dodital

Day at leisure to explore the area around lake and relaxation.

Day 7: Dodital - Darba Top - Kanasar

Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Darba Top (3500 M) by covering appox 12 kms in 04 to 05 hrs. From the Darba Top one can have panoramic view of Mt. Kala Nag, Banderpunch and its satellite Peaks. Camp below the Darba Top for overnight stay.

Day 8:Kanasar - Hanumanchatti

Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Hanumanchatti (2400 M) by covering appox 15 kms in 05 to 06 hrs. Arrive and check-into Tourist Bungalow for overnight stay.

Day 9: Hanumanchatti - Yamunotri

Morning after breakfast trek to reach Yamunotri (3000 mt.). Yamunotri is source of another holy river - Yamuna and one of the holiest places of Hindu. Overnight stay at tourist bungalow/ tents.

Day 10: Yamunotri - Ruinsara Lake

Morning after breakfast start trekking to cross the Yamunotri pass (5500 mt) and reach over to Ruinsara Lake (3900 mt). Overnight stay in tent near the Ruinsara Lake.

Day 11: Ruinsara Lake - Deva Thach

Morning after breakfast trek to reach Deva Thatch. Trek along the valley. On arrival put up tents for the overnight stay.

Day 12: Deva Thach - Har-Ki-Doon

Morning after breakfast trek to reach Har-Ki-Doon, a beautiful meadow open and green. This hanging valley, popularly known as 'Valley of Gods' is one of the least explored region of Garhwal and a treat for trekkers. It offers very beutiful view of Swargarohini peaks. Since Har-Ki-Doon lies in Govind Pashu Vihar, so there are good change of finding some wildlife here. Overnight in Tented Camp.

Day 13: Har-ki-Doon

Day to explore the Har Ki Doon Valley. Normally during monsoon, the valley is full of wild Himalayan Flowers.

Day 14: Har-Ki-Doon - Seema

Morning after breakfast start return trek (13 KM) to reach Seema after crossing Osla. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 15: Seema - Datmi

Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Datmi which is approx, 2-3 km bfore Taluka. Arrive and overnight stay in tents.

Day 16: Datmi - Sankri - Naugaon

Morning after breakfast (14 km) trek back to Sankri via Taluka. On arrival drive to drive (55 km) to reach Naugaon which is a very beautiful village. Overnight stay in guest house / tented camp.

Day 17: Naugaon - Dehradun - Delhi

Morning after b/fast cross the river by bridge to visit temples of Lakha Mandal which is associated with Pandava from Mahabharat. Later drive to Dehradoon railway station to board Shatabdi Exp. to Delhi. Met on arrival at rly station and transfer to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 18: Depart - Delhi

Optional sightseeing tour of Delhi. Later transfer to airport to board flight for onward destination.
