A quite easy trek for beginners is the Mount Friendship that stands at the height of 5289 m in the Pir Panjal of Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. The peak offers a beatific view of the three magnificent ranges – Pir Panjal Range, the Great Himalayan range and the Dhauladhar Range. In spite of being a little less arduous, the peak does challenge the mountaineer at first, but the breathtaking landscapes, Rocky Mountains, snow all around and astonishing pastures motivate to go ahead.

Mount Deo Tibba Base Camp

2. Mount Deo Tibba Expedition
A very beautiful and famous peak which is a piece of attraction for the young mountaineers is the Mount Deo Tibba, which being 6001 m in height is the second highest peak after the Indarasan peak in the Pir Panjal Range. The range is located in Manali, Himachal Pradesh and is believed to be a seat to the Hindu deities.

This peak, however, is not so high but is suitable for those who have done climbing and trekking in the past and who have knowledge about the ice, snow and the mountaineering techniques.

The places covered include Delhi, Manali, Khanol, Chikka and Seri. The date of the expedition is yet to be declared. However, it is expected to fall in the months of June and September as these two months are the best time to visit Mount Deo Tibba.

3. Mount Kang Yatse – II
is one of the highest trekking peaks in Ladakh region as well as in Indian Himalayas, although you don’t require special mountaineering skills, but you need to be an avid trekker and must be fully acclimatized for such climbs. These peaks give you a real opportunity to climb an above 6100m mountain in less than 2 weeks, which is not possible in any other part of the world.
The upcoming Mount Kang Yatse – II Expedition in 2020 fall between the following dates:

04 Jul – 17 Jul
20 Jul – 02 Aug
11 Aug – 24 Aug

The expedition will begin from Delhi, covering Leh, Stok Manikarmo and returning back to Delhi from Leh.

4. Mount Shivling Expedition
You need a complete month to enjoy the expedition to the fullest. The itinerary begins from Delhi, covering Rishikesh, Uttarkashi, Gangotri, Bhujbasa and Tapovan. Mount Shivling is a 6543 meters high peak which is also a sacred and pious place for Hindu community. One of the most enticing peaks in Garhwal Himalayan region, the path to the peak passes through confined zone of Gangotri which is yet another pilgrimage site for Hindus. The unique pyramid like the conical shape of the mountain has made it to be called as the ‘Matterhorn of India’.

Climbing Mount Nun

5. Mount Nun Expedition
Yet another inspiring peak is the Mount Nun. Standing 7135 meters high above the sea level Mount Nun expedition brings the mountaineers to the most pretentious and naturally beautiful Jammu & Kashmir. Mount Nun is a piece from Nun-Kun, a mountain massif separated by a snowy plateau that stretches up to four kilometres. It is also the highest peak in the range of Himalayas.

The expedition takes 24 days and is available in three slots:

15 Jul – 07 Aug
26 Jul – 18 Aug
04 Aug – 27 Aug

The expedition starts from Delhi, covering Leh, Indus Valley, Leh, Kargil, Tangol, Mt Nun, Tangol, Kargil, Srinagar and then again back to Delhi. There will be two base camps; one after Tangol and the other after Mount Nun. Amidst your expedition, you will also get a chance to explore old monasteries of Thiksey, Hemis, and Shey and the ultimate experience to visit the last Shangri La – Ladakh.
