Overview

Khan Tengri (7,010 m) is one of the most beautiful and iconic peaks in the world, located in the Tian Shan mountain range on the border of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and China. Known as the “Lord of the Sky,” this striking marble pyramid is considered one of the most challenging and prestigious 7000-meter climbs.

Although technically 6,995 meters in rock height, its glacier cap brings the official elevation above 7,000 meters, making it a true 7000-meter peak. The mountain is renowned for its perfect pyramid shape, dramatic ridges, and extreme alpine conditions.

The expedition begins with access to Base Camp (around 4,000 m), typically reached via helicopter from Karkara Valley. From here, climbers progress through multiple high camps across glaciers, steep snow slopes, and exposed ridgelines.

Khan Tengri is a technical mountaineering expedition, requiring strong experience in ice and mixed climbing, use of fixed ropes, and the ability to handle extreme altitude and weather conditions.

Climbers are rewarded with one of the most spectacular summit views in Central Asia, especially during sunset when the marble peak glows in golden and red hues.

With expert guides, advanced logistics, and strong safety systems, Shikhar Travels offers a professional and well-supported expedition to this legendary peak.
