Located in the Garhwal Himalaya region of Uttarakhand, Mt. Satopanth gets an esteemed position among the enthusiastic climbers for a technically moderate trail. Nestled at a huge elevation of 7075 meters (23212 Ft) above sea level, Satopanth expedition happens to be a formidable undertaking.

Passing through the knife-sharp edges of the mountain leads the climbers to an amicable and remote area, the climbers will be blessed with the mesmerizing views of Gangotri Glacier and Bhagirathi II.

Mount Satopanth Expedition (7075 M | 23212 Ft) itinerary

Day 1- Arrival in Delhi
Welcome to Delhi, the capital city of India. On reaching Delhi Airport, you will be greeted and welcomed by our representative who will be assisting you at the airport and will take you to the pre-booked hotel where you will be spending an overnight stay.
 
Day 2: Delhi - Rishikesh (350 M)
Morning enjoy your breakfast at hotel and then drive to Indian Mountaineering Foundation I.M.F for briefing and accomplish the formalities and administrative work. Later in the after proceed to Rishikesh upon arrivel check into the hotel. Freshen up and enjoy your dinner which is then followed by a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 3: Rishikesh - Uttarkashi (1200 M) 170 Kms | 6.5 Hrs drive
On the third day of expedition today you will be driving towards Uttarkashi which is almost 175 Kms away from Rishikesh. Dinner and overnight stay arrangement are done at Uttarkashi by Shikhar Travels.

Day 4: Uttarkashi - Gangotri (3400 M) 100 Kms | 4.5 Hrs Drive
Post relishing healthy breakfast, get ready to complete all the required formalities of the expedition. You will be visiting the Forest Department, Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, and Superintendent of Police to complete the needed procedures. Next you will be driving towards Gangotri which is only at a distance of 100 km from Uttarkashi. Arrangement of your dinner and overnight halt is organized at one of the best hotel in Gangotri.

Day 5: Gangotri - Bhojbasa (3780 M) Trek 14 Kms | 6 Hrs
This is the day when you will start your trekking experience by climbing up the hills to reach Bhojbasa, elevated at 3780 meters above sea level. This is going to be a 4-5 hours long trek where you will be covering a total distance of 14 km. The trail you are covering is full of mesmerizing Himalayan sights and also the awe-inspiring views of the surrounding snow-capped mountain peaks.

Day 6: Bhojbasa - Gaumukh (3892M) - Nandanvan (4340 M) Trek 10 Kms | 5 Hrs
Today we gradually walk up to the Gaumukh – “The source of River Ganges” a beautiful walk with views of Mt. Shivling (6543 mt) and the Mt Bhagirathi (6856). Further, proceed to little high towards to Nandanvan. Across the Gangotri glacier, cutting across the glacial moraine, you shall reach the spacious alpine meadow of Nandan Van, at the juncture of Chatrungi Glacier and Gangotri Glacier and the base of Baghirathi I (6856 Mts.), II (6512 Mts.) and III (6454 Mts.). You should also have views of Mt. Kedar Dome (6831 Mts.), Karcha Kund (6617 Mts.), Kedarnath (6940 Mts.) and Mt. Meru (6672 Mts.) across the Gangotri Glacier. Overnight in Tents at Nandanvan. Meals: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
 
Day 7:  Nandanvan - Base Camp (4500 M) Trek 10 Kms | 5 Hrs
Morning after breakfast start trek to Vasuki Tal (4500 M) which is base camp of Mount Satopanth (approx 10 kms / 4 -5 hrs) and it will bve our place for next 2 weeks or so. Upon arrivel set the base camp for overnight stay.

Tentative Climbing program after base Camp from Day 8 to Day 21
 
Day 8: Day for Base Camp - 4898 meters
There is no planned schedule for the day and you are free to relax in your comfy stay. All you will be doing today is either sleeping or exploring the areas around the base camp. You can also witness some amazing views of the snow-peaked mountains and the scenic beauty of the surrounding areas. overnight stray in tents
 
Day 9: Base Camp - Advance Base Camp 
On the 9th day of the Satopanth expedition, you will be walking on a narrow ridge towards the Chaturanga Glacier which is surrounded by Vasuki Parbat from the right side. Capture the awe-inspiring glimpses of the majestic Satopanth Peak from the edge of the ridge. Later on, start descending towards the Sundar glacier to reach the advanced base camp.
 
Day 10: Advance Base Camp
There is no specific schedule for the day and you will only be left for acclimatization. However, it might happen that in the second half of the day, you will cover a short trekking trail to go up the hill. Reach the camping site before it gets dark and then go for a relaxing overnight sleep post savoring the delectable dinner.
 
Day 11: Advance Base Camp - Load Ferry to Camp 1 (5230 M)
Start this beautiful day with a relishing breakfast and then get ready for the first technical climb of the expedition. You will be fixing the ropes today so that it would become easier for you to climb up higher on the next day.
 
Day 12: Advance Base Camp - Camp 1
Your official technical climbing session starts today. After completing a short walk on the glacier, you will be negotiating a rock band and then an ice gully. After crossing a few gentle humps you will arrive a Base Camp 1 which is nestled at an elevation of almost 5800 meters above sea level.
 
Day 13: Camp 1 - Load Ferry to Camp 2 (5800 M)
Enjoy your morning meal first and then get ready to climb up a certain height and then before it gets dark return to campsite 1 for dinner and overnight halt.
 
Day 14: Rest day and Load Ferry
Thia day is for rest day and load ferry to Camp 2
 
Day 15: Camp 1- Load Ferry to Camp 2 
Today we will trek from camp 1 to preset Camp 2.
 
Day 16: Camp 2 - Summit Camp (6200 meters)
Get yourself geared up for a short steep walk to reach the lesser-known ‘knife ridge’. You are advised to go for a pre-fixing rope activity as this would help you for a further journey. Once you have crossed the bridge, you will arrive at the sharp icy face of the mountain from where you can see the entire hilly area. Pitch your tent just above the hanging glacier.
 
Day 17: Summit Camp - Climbing- Summit - Summit Camp - Camp 2
Today, you will be attempting the peak in the first half of the day, and later in the afternoon move back to camp 2 for the overnight halt and scrumptious dinner.
 
Day 18-19: Reserve Day at camp 2 for the summit
Two days reserve for summit insace of bad weather. 
 
Day 20-21: Descending from Camp 2 to Base Camp
It will take almost 2 complete days to descend from Camp 2 to the base camp of the expedition. Enjoy the meals offered at the camps and tents and stay energized throughout this descending activity.
 
Meals: From day 8 to day 21 high altitude food.
 
Day 22: Base Camp - Bhojbasa  Trek 20 Kms
After getting up from a sound sleep, freshen up and enjoy treating morning meal. Pack your bags as this is the time to trek towards Bhojbasa. On reaching the day destination, set up a camp for overnight stay.
Meals: Breakfast + Lunch + Dinner
 
Day 23: Bhojbasa - Gangotri - Uttarkashi  14 Kms Trek and 100 Kms Drive 
Post completing the first meals of the day, start trekking down to Gangotri from Bhojbasa. Once you reach Gangotri, you will start the drive towards Uttarkashi. Upon arrivel check in the resort/hotel for overnight stay.

Day 24: Uttarkashi - Rishikesh  Drive 170 Kms | 6 Hrs
After finishing breakfast, start driving towards Rishikesh, the yoga capital of India. Check into the hotel room after completing the required formalities and then Later in the evening, visit Ram Jhula for Ganga Arti. back to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 25: Rishikesh - Delhi  Drive 250 Kms | 6.5 Hrs
After finishing the morning meal, drive towards Delhi, and then on your arrival, check into the hotel room for dinner which is then followed by a relaxing overnight stay.

Day 26: Departure from Delhi
After completing the morning meal, get ready to visit IMF for debriefing. For the rest of the day, you are free to spend your time the way you want. Complete the check-out formalities to board the flight for your onward journey towards home.
